How the Possibility Accelerator Transformed My Personal and Collective Goals

I am excited to share my experiences from the IONS Possibility Accelerator Experience workshop! I was a participant in the very first cohort (January 2021) and the workshop was a meaningful way for my heart, mind, and consciousness to kick off the new year.

The Possibility Accelerator Experience is an online, research-based program focusing on noetic concepts, tools, and practices to support you in creating any personal or collective transformation.

Since the 1970s, I’ve been interested in IONS mission of exploring outer and inner space. Now at 70 years old, my focus is on diving deeper into the journey of living, aging, and eventually dying consciously, with an emphasis on noetic practices (such as yoga and meditation) that enhance my well-being and expand my conscious awareness of the interconnected whole and my role in it.

As IONS CEO Claire Lachance said recently, it’s time to “awaken to the noetic now” in service to the world. This may or may not resonate with everyone, but I want to make the world a better place. At this stage of my life, I often contemplate how I can make a difference in the world. I know it is important that I am mindful of how I utilize my energy and maintain personal wellness and then there’s the question, “What can I do for the greater good?”

That’s what appealed to me and inspired me to register for the Possibility Accelerator Experience workshop. I liked that developing a ”moonshot” — bringing a dream, deep desire, or vision to life — was a key component of the workshop and that noetic experiential practices can act as “rocket fuel” to propel our moonshots. I also appreciated that the research-based workshop materials focused on noetic concepts, tools, and practices that would support me in creating transformation, on both personal and collective levels. It sounded like a nice blend of science as well as providing a safe space for expanding consciousness.

I found the Possibility Accelerator Experience workshop to be insightful, mentally invigorating, and soul-nourishing. Even more importantly, for me personally, the program affirmed and validated my noetic gifts and supported me in cultivating them further.

For as long as I can remember, I always sensed a feeling of interconnectedness with all beings. Yet, I can also remember that throughout much of my life, I was told, “you’re too sensitive” or “that’s just your imagination.” So, I am especially grateful to have found the IONS community in which I feel comfortable sharing my noetic experiences.

One of the components of the Possibility Accelerator Experience that I most enjoyed was learning about our Noetic Signature™ and developing more tools to integrate the noetic into our daily transformative practices. A Noetic Signature™ is the unique manner in which we receive and express information and energy not limited by space and time. According to the IONS survey that I took this past year, the Noetic Signature™ factors that appeared to be strong for me were clairsentience, a feeling of “just knowing,” clairempathy, the ability to feel other people’s emotions, and clairaudience, clear extrasensory hearing.

This helped me understand a previous clairsentient experience I had while practicing yoga. When I was deeply focused on my practice in a yoga studio in Texas, I suddenly received an image of the internationally-known yogi, B.K.S. Iyengar. He appeared to me in a seated lotus pose, smiling, dressed in a bright orange robe, floating around the yoga studio where I was practicing. He was surrounded by luminous bright light and I felt a sense of immense love. The following day, news from India announced that B.K.S.Iyengar had died. To me, my clairsentient experience signified him saying goodbye to us from a higher consciousness.

I have also found that different noetic practices, such as my “yoga of the inner self” practice, “breath of fire” rapid breathing, drumming, chanting, meditation, and reciting mantras have supported me in connecting with something higher than myself. As a writer, I’ve experienced that feeling of being “in the flow” with downloads of information coming in. It can be difficult to describe these experiences in words.

I appreciated the opportunity to recognize and cultivate these noetic experiences and share them in such a respectful, supportive environment with the other Possibility Accelerator Experience participants and my heart still soars when I think about all the positive, inspiring Moonshot projects people are initiating. Talk about making the world a better place!

A moonshot at my age? Yes indeedy. I’m ready for blast off! Without going into too many details, let’s just say it involves a deep dive into an abundance of noetic practices and a Conscious Aging lifestyle.

The Possibility Accelerator Experience facilitators really met me where I was and brought such positive energy, individually and collectively, to this project. All of the material is straightforward, easy to comprehend, and easily digested, scientific but not “dumbed-down.” Relaxing grounding and centering exercises start each segment. So it’s paced for keeping the mind open and the consciousness expanding.

Before I close, I’d like to share a treasured verse on interconnectedness from the ancient Yoga Sutras: “I will recognize the light of awareness in every sentient being and see others as part of myself.”

Thank you for this Possibility Accelerator Experience and the opportunity to share my experiences with you!
