In this conversation with CEO Claire Lachance and leadership scholar-practitioner Alan Briskin, Dr. Stewart shares her process of Seven Second Decision Making (SSD), which she describes as a natural blend of reason, experience, and intuition. With SSD, Dr. Stewart demonstrates how we can use intuition for all aspects of business — to support greater productivity, higher morale, lower costs, and better service. Join us to learn techniques for applied intuition, and hear why Dr. Stewart believes the proper use of intuition is a liberal art, not an occult one.

Lucid Dreaming for Mind/Body Health and Healing

ConnectIONS Live!

Many people have had lucid dreaming experiences — recognizing that you are dreaming while you are still asleep. And while this personal “virtual reality” can be leveraged for all kinds of creative explorations, one of the most potentially powerful uses is to support health and healing. Both scientific research and anecdotal evidence point to the ability to use this unique state of consciousness to influence body and mind, and indicate that it may be possible to use the lucid dreaming state to reduce symptoms, foster rapid healing, and even (in some cases) fully resolve health issues — both physical and mental.

Why Materialism Is Baloney

ConnectIONS Live!

The present framing of the debate between materialism/physicalism versus post-materialism/spirituality has allowed materialism to go unchallenged as the only rationally-viable metaphysics.

Join us for our next ConnectIONS Live when IONS Chief Scientist Dean Radin, PhD, will interview Bernardo Kastrup, author of Why Materialism Is Boloney: How True Skeptics Know There Is No Death and Fathom Answers to life, the Universe, and Everything.

Why Materialism Is Boloney

Bernardo Kastrup seeks to change the debate by uncovering the absurd implications of materialism and by presenting a hard-nosed non-materialist metaphysics substantiated by skepticism, hard empirical evidence, and clear logical argumentation. In his book, he lays out a coherent framework upon which one can interpret and make sense of every natural phenomenon and physical law, as well as the modalities of human consciousness, without materialist assumptions.

PRESENTERS

He has given over 600 invited presentations and interviews for government, military, business, scientific, and other groups around the world.

Bernardo KastrupBernardo Kastrup is the executive director of Essentia Foundation. He has a Ph.D. in philosophy (ontology, philosophy of mind) and another Ph.D. in computer engineering (reconfigurable computing, artificial intelligence). As a scientist, Bernardo has worked for the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Philips Research Laboratories (where the ‘Casimir Effect’ of Quantum Field Theory was discovered). The Genetics of Psychic Abilities

ConnectIONS Live!

It’s often said that psychic abilities run in families. According to one Scottish survey, if one of your parents has second sight, there is a 50 percent chance that you have it. If both your parents have second sight, there is a 50 to 100 percent chance that you have it.

IONS followed up on this survey finding with a formal genetic research study involving 13 high-performing psychics and 10 controls with no psychic ability.

The findings from the study were highly suggestive and unexpected. If further work confirms our initial findings, it will open an entirely new way of understanding the biological basis for psychic abilities, and their evolutionary origins and purpose. It could also allow us to better cultivate these abilities.

Join IONS Director of Research, Dr. Helané Wahbeh, in a ConnectIONS Live webinar about our Psigenes research project. You will learn how genetics impact psi abilities and how you can participate in this ongoing research.

Speaker

Helané Wahbeh, ND, MCR, is the Director of Research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Wahbeh is clinically trained as a naturopathic physician and research trained with a Master of Clinical Research and two post-doctoral research fellowships. A Deeper Dive into the Overview

ConnectIONS Live!

Join IONS Board Chair Claudia Welss for our next ConnectIONS Live webinar on May 28th as she speaks with Frank White, author of The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution.

“Once a photograph of Earth, taken from outside, is available, a new idea as powerful as any in history will be let loose.”
~ English Astronomer Sir Fred Hoyle in 1948

The Overview Effect is a cognitive shift in awareness reported by most astronauts while viewing Earth from space — most notably including IONS Founder, Apollo 14 lunar module pilot and sixth man to walk on the moon, Captain Edgar Mitchell. The term was coined and the theory developed by space philosopher Frank White, who explored the theme in his 1987 book of the same name.

Last year, Frank joined Claudia, Shuttle Endeavour astronaut Mae Jemison, and IONS scientist Loren Carpenter on our Collective Consciousness webinar series. Now, on the occasion of the release of the fourth edition of The Overview Effect, they will go deeper into what this view that’s “as powerful as any in history” can mean for the early days of the 21st century — and how we can maximize, in time, its potential to shift human consciousness toward the recognition of our profound interconnectedness.

HOST

Claudia WelssClaudia Welss is a citizen scientist, Board Chairman of the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), and on the boards of HeartMath’s Global Coherence Initiative and Space for Humanity (“to space for Earth”). She’s also Founding Chair of the Invest in Yourself Working Group at NEXUS Global Network, sharing practical consciousness research with NextGen social entrepreneurs, impact investors, philanthropists, activists and cultural influencers. She’s executive producer of IONS Edgar Mitchell Overview Effect Virtual Reality Experience (EMVRX) and the upcoming movie about Edgar Mitchell, The Space Less Traveled. Claudia’s essay, “Humanity’s Change of Heart” appears with those of other Evolutionary Leaders in the Gold Nautilus Award-winning book Our Moment of Choice.

SPEAKER

Frank WhiteFrank White is best-known for his book, The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution, which is considered by many to be a seminal work in the field of exploration. In his latest book, The Cosma Hypothesis: Implications of the Effect, he asks the fundamental question, “What is the purpose of human space exploration? Why has the evolutionary process brought humanity to the brink of becoming a space-faring species?” Frank is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a Rhodes Scholar. He earned an M.Phil. in Politics from Oxford University.

Humanity Rising Global Solutions Summit

Humanity Rising represents a movement of people and organizations coming together to take counsel on how to leverage the crisis of the coronavirus pandemic into an opportunity for human renewal and increased resilience to future challenges.

The goal of the Summit is to create an international coalition strong enough to transform conversations that matter into actions that make a difference.

Please join IONS Board Chairman Claudia Welss at this world-changing event to come together to chart our course to new specifications, navigate with sustainable coordinates, and embrace new models that take the wellbeing of our planetary ecology and all communities into account. Claudia will speak on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at 8:00 – 9:30 AM Pacific / 5:00  – 6:30 PM CET on the topic of “The Shapes That Shape Us.”

How do humans make sense of the world? In something as simple as shape, you can find a key to humans’ mental maps through time. From the web worldview of migratory humans’ round thatched huts and stone circles, to the ladder mindset of settled humans’ pyramids and skyscrapers, to the network map that masters our lives today, history shifts from a story of wars and kings to a story of changing shapes. You can read the past and catch the future by watching when shapes shift.
