Recognizing and Integrating Spiritual Emergence

ConnectIONS Live!

Spiritual emergence experiences occur throughout the life span, triggered by sudden losses, spiritual practices, as well as spontaneous anomalous experiences. Major losses include questioning or loss of faith, illness, grief and facing death. Anomalous spiritual experiences, such as mystical, near death, and psychedelic experiences challenge our understanding of the world and can be confusing and frightening. The self can become disorganized and overwhelmed by an infusion of spiritual energies or new realms of experience. While such challenges can produce a period of distress and imbalance, once recognized and approached as potentially transformative, many people can integrate such episodes in ways that promote their growth and development. Fostering integration of spiritual emergence experiences rather than trying to “reduce symptoms” can enable them to become Spiritually Transformative Experiences.

In this free talk, streamed live from the Andean Mountains in Peru, Puma will talk about his role as a holder of his ancient lineage and wisdom. Through simple ritual and visualizations, he will teach you how to recognise energy that serves you, and how to take it abundantly from Pachamama (Mother Earth) and from the Cosmos. Puma will highlight different types of energy, as well as how to beneficially access those highest frequencies in and around us.

Sacred Medicine: A Doctor’s Quest to Unravel the Mysteries of Healing

ConnectIONS Live!

Join us for ConnectIONS Live on May 6th with Dr. Lissa Rankin – MD and author of Mind Over Medicine and Sacred Medicine: A Doctor’s Quest to Unravel the Mysteries of Healing. Dr. Rankin will share the findings from her latest book sparked by a curiosity around miracle cures.

What is really making us sick? Can we create miracles when conventional medicine has given up on us, and if so, how? Why do some people with healthy habits fall sick, while others with bad habits live a disease-free life until they are 100 years old?

These were some of the questions she packed in her suitcase in 2007, when she left a promising career in medicine driven by the desire to heal herself. She went on a journey across the globe to visit medical professionals, medicine people, and healers from all schools and traditions.

Fueled by the controversy that emerged during the pandemic around what wellness and disease actually are, what causes them, and how they are interconnected, she went back and rewrote parts of the book. Attend the ConnectIONS Live to find out about her conclusions!

Dr. Rankin will be interviewed by Dean Radin, Chief Scientist at IONS.

Emotion, Sensitivity, and Extraordinary Experience

ConnectIONS Live!

From regular folks to national leaders to the foremost skeptics, people have reported spontaneous, extraordinary experiences just about everywhere and in every age.

Could the flow of feeling that literally moves us account for our strangest, most baffling experiences?

One clue: highly sensitive people – both physically and emotionally – seem more prone to anomalous perception. Individuals affected by allergies, migraine, chronic pain or fatigue, even synesthesia (overlapping senses) tend to be more ‘psychic.’

Another clue: the frequency that highly volatile, life-or-death situations figure in extraordinary experience. Why? The body-mind basis of emotion offers a basis for understanding.

Emotion is core to our sense of self and the most powerful driver of our lives. As such, the combination of emotionally meaningful junctures with personality differences (we’ll learn about the “thick boundary” and “thin boundary” personality) may be the source of anomalies.

If you consider yourself highly sensitive, or live with someone who is – or if you’re just fascinated by what we can’t yet explain – you’ll find this presentation compelling.

Remarkable Results of the Lucid Dream Healing PTSD Study

ConnectIONS Live!

In the summer of 2021, the IONS team partnered with a luminary in the field of lucid dreaming, Charlie Morley, to conduct a pilot study of healing PTSD through lucid dreaming. We now have the results and they are very promising.

Lucid dreaming is a special sort of dream in which you know that you are dreaming while still in the dream. Typically, you tell yourself “I’m dreaming!” or “This is a dream!” This realization often (but not necessarily) leads to the ability to deliberately control one’s actions within the dream. The aim of the study was for the participants to wake up in their dreams and intentionally experience a healing integration of their trauma. Despite almost all of the participants in the study being complete novices to lucid dreaming, a majority of them were able to have a lucid dream. Of those that did achieve lucidity, more than half were able to call forth a healing experience in the lucid dreamscape.

He has spoken nationally and co-authored peer-reviewed papers on the topic of establishing rigorous guidelines for research into biofields and micro-psychokinesis.

ConnectIONS Live!

Co-produced by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and the Scientific and Medical Network

David Lorimer joins us on March 4th to speak on this poignant topic at a time when war and militarism are once again in the forefront of the news. However, many visionary philosophers and mystics have indicated that our evolutionary trajectory is towards global spiritual awakening represented by a culture of love and wisdom. Shared Journeys to the Afterlife

ConnectIONS Live!

Co-produced by the Institute of Noetic Sciences and the Scientific and Medical Network

One of the best kept secrets amongst hospice workers is the extraordinary end-of-life experiences (ELEs) that they observe or hear about while caring for the dying and their loved ones. The shared death experience (SDE) is the crown jewel of these phenomenon. This presentation introduces the SDE, which is a particular type of ELE in which caregivers and loved ones of dying persons report feeling as if they have participated in a dying person’s transition to a benevolent afterlife.
