On Thursday, June 6th TEDxMarin is proud to present a very special SALON and community gathering. They will explore the latest research on the human brain, meditation, dementia, and consciousness. Remarkable new evidence will be shared about what happens in the brain (second by second) when we bring focus inward, and why it’s so beneficial. They will also explore how and if consciousness remains when the wiring breaks down, as in Alzheimer’s, and we’ll discuss our understanding of the age-old question, “what IS consciousness?”
IONS President and Senior Scientist Cassandra Vieten will explore concepts and definitions of “consciousness” from both spiritual and scientific perspectives.
This SALON includes a Pre-talk community reception connecting our 500+ attendees, including a showcase of interesting non-profits, start-ups, and local companies and services. No Host Bar and very light food tastes will be available.
