Biofield Therapy & Energy Healing
Friday, May 8, 2020
11:00 am – 12:15 pm (Pacific)
Free and Open to All
This Friday, we will turn our spotlight on noetic approaches to health and healing. IONS is proud to have a long-time partnership with the Consciousness Healing Initiative (CHI), who recently released a landmark report summarizing the science and practice of biofield therapy and energy healing. Together with IONS Director of Research, Dr. Helané Wahbeh, CHI Founder and CEO Dr. Shamini Jain, and Emerald Gate Charitable Trust CEO Jason Yotopoulos, we will explore:
- What is biofield/energy healing?
- Is there scientific evidence for energy healing?
- What will it take to integrate these therapies into healthcare?
- What energy healing practices can I do right now to support my health?
We hope you will join us for this engaging panel on the science, practice, and future direction of biofield therapy — an extremely pertinent and timely topic for all of us around the world.
Panelists
Helané Wahbeh, ND, MCR, is the Director of Research at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Wahbeh is clinically trained as a naturopathic physician and research trained with a Master of Clinical Research and two post-doctoral research fellowships. She has published on and spoken internationally about her studies on complementary and alternative medicine, mind-body medicine, stress, and posttraumatic stress disorder and their relationships to physiology, health, and healing.
Shamini Jain, PhD, is a psychologist, scientist, and social entrepreneur. She is the Founder and CEO of the Consciousness and Healing Initiative (CHI), a collaborative accelerator that connects scientists, health practitioners, innovators, and social entrepreneurs to forward the science and practice of healing. CHI was formed through Dr. Jain’s deep desire to bring key stakeholders together to create a coherent and effective movement to move us beyond models of “disease thinking” and the “decade of the brain”, into the study of systems-based healing processes, and personal and societal empowerment.
Jason Yotopoulos, a Stanford-educated engineer, is a multi-time entrepreneur, has spent a decade as a venture capitalist and a subsequent decade as an executive with one of the world’s largest global multinational software companies. He supports frontier science through his Merraki Institute and most recently with the Emerald Gate Foundation to orchestrate and implement a multi-year, comprehensive research agenda. Jason serves as CEO of Emerald Gate, an impact fund focused on frontier science research to seed new commercial applications.
