The Impact of the Nurses Global Coherence 2020 Meditation on Global Consciousness

On May 12th, IONS collaborated with HeartMath and the Global Consciousness Project to present the Nurses’ Global Coherence 2020 event, a global coherence project to commemorate Florence Nightingale’s 200th Birthday and honor the heart of humanity and the caregiver in all of us. This event brought people together from around the world to participate in a world-wide synchronized meditation. You can learn more about the details of the events itself on the IONS Nurses Global Coherence 2020 blog.

The effects of this event on global consciousness were tracked through random number generators (RNG) around the world during and after the meditation by the Global Consciousness Project (GCP). Roger Nelson, PhD, Director of the GCP and IONS Research Fellow, provided a brief overview of the results here.

The results are interesting and heartening, however, it’s important to note that any single investigation of the impact of an event on “global consciousness” should be viewed with caution since the data cannot be reliably interpreted without multiple replications.
