Are you an older adult? Are you interested in improving your mood? If you are a healthy adult between the ages of 55 and 80 this study may be for you!
The purpose of the project is to learn more about how a meditation program called Internet Mindfulness Meditation Intervention (IMMI), which is delivered via the internet, may affect depression symptoms in older adults.
The study consists of 6 internet training sessions, once a week for six weeks, and 30-40 minutes of daily home practice delivered via study iPod.
You will also be asked to complete three questionnaires online throughout the study over a span of 12-14 weeks.
If selected for this study, you will have a 50/50 chance of being randomized to either the IMMI condition or the wait-list control. If you are randomized to the IMMI condition you will be asked to begin the IMMI trainings immediately. If you are randomized to the wait-list control you will also be asked to complete the IMMI trainings after a six week wait period.
Please Note: All participants need to have access to a computer connected to the internet to complete the online trainings.
If you would like to participate, please complete the Online Screening. This survey will have detailed information about the study, and will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
