This ConnectIONS Live webinar features an exclusive recorded conversation between IONS Chief Scientist Dean Radin, PhD and best-selling author Dan Brown. In this exclusive dialogue, Dean invited Dan to discuss why he chose the noetic sciences as the anchor for his new thriller.
The Secret of Secrets features IONS and the groundbreaking research it conducts. In this conversation, Dan Brown shares what inspired him to incorporate real-world noetic science into his fiction, and Dean Radin offers insights into some of IONS’ fascinating experiments and findings that continue to blur the line between science and what was once considered magical or “supernatural.”
Following the recorded interview, Dean Radin answers questions, provides deeper context, and discusses the broader implications of consciousness research for our understanding of reality, human potential, and the interconnected world we inhabit.
Whether you’re a long-time student of consciousness or simply curious about the mysteries of the mind, this is a unique opportunity to hear directly from a leading scientist and a world-renowned storyteller about the science that’s reshaping how we think about our lives and our world.
PRESENTERS

Dean Radin, MS, PhD, is Chief Scientist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences and Associated Distinguished Professor at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He was awarded an Honorary DSc in yoga research from S-VYASA. Before joining the research staff at IONS in 2001, he held appointments at AT&T Bell Labs, Princeton University, University of Edinburgh, and SRI International. Dr. Radin is author or coauthor of hundreds of technical articles, some 145 peer-reviewed journal articles, four dozen book chapters, and four best-selling, popular books. He has given over 750 invited presentations and interviews for government, military, business, scientific, and other groups around the world.

Dan Brown is the author of eight #1 bestselling novels, including The Da Vinci Code, which has become one of the bestselling books of all time. His Robert Langdon thrillers—including The Lost Symbol, Angels & Demons, Inferno, and Origin—have captivated readers worldwide and continue to spark intellectual debate, dialogue, and conjecture. Brown’s novels are published in 56 languages around the world with over 250 million copies in print.
In 2005, he was named one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World by TIME Magazine, whose editors credited him with “keeping the publishing industry afloat; renewed interest in Leonardo da Vinci and early Christian history; spiking tourism to Paris and Rome; a growing membership in secret societies; the ire of Cardinals in Rome; eight books denying the claims of the novel and seven guides to read along with it; a flood of historical thrillers; and a major motion picture franchise.”
The son of a mathematics teacher and a church organist, Brown was raised on a prep school campus where he developed a fascination with the paradoxical interplay between science and religion. These themes eventually formed the backdrop for his books. He is a graduate of Amherst College and Phillips Exeter Academy, where he later returned to teach English before focusing his attention full time to writing. He lives in New England.
