In 2005, we published Consciousness and Healing: Integral Approaches to Mind Body Medicine with an accompanying DVD. This book, which has become an accepted textbook in many medical, nursing, and allied health programs throughout the country, takes “mind/body medicine” to the next level, one that integrates spiritual dimensions fully into our understanding of how the body works in health and illness. This work reconciles the long-standing split between noetic (interior) aspects of experience and the physical and objective aspects that characterize science based medicine. In so doing, it places medicine at the leading edge of a transformation emerging in multiple dimensions of human experience, an ontological shift illustrated through the specific research information provided. In early 2010, we learned that Elsevier was in the process of publishing a second printing of Consciousness and Healing, having sold almost nine thousand copies to date.
