ConnectIONS Live!
Carl Jung’s investigation into dreaming and the collective unconscious gave us the concept of archetypes, or universal patterns within the psyche. Jung described one particular archetype, as the Self, since it appeared to embrace the totality of a person’s conscious and unconscious being, even calling the Self as similar to “the God within us.”
Can lucid dreamers, consciously aware of dreaming while in the dream state, actually encounter something like the Self? Or might they meet other archetypal energies while aware within the dream? Lucid dreaming may offer each person a direct path to explore Jung’s ideas from the inside, opening a connection to the beauty, wisdom and guidance found within the unconscious psyche.
Join lucid dreaming expert and author Robert Waggoner as he draws on more than 1,000 of his own lucid dreams to explore how archetypal figures and the Self can be encountered within the lucid dream state. He’ll also debunk a common misconception — that lucid dreamers simply “control” their dreams — showing instead how skilled dreamers learn to move within the vast unconscious with greater awareness and respect.
