Diffraction 2.0:
A Sneak Peak into a New IONS Study Exploring
Consciousness and Quantum Reality
We are excited to invite our IONS Circle Donors to an exclusive online event with Dr. Dean Radin as he unveils the beginnings of a groundbreaking new research project!
Dr. Radin’s previous study, Diffraction 1.0 (also called the SIGIL experiment, for Scientific Investigation of Gazing with Intention at Light), explored the “consciousness-collapse interpretation” of quantum mechanics by testing if human observation influenced interference in an optical system. While the preregistered hypothesis, based on data from all of the participants, was not confirmed, intriguing exploratory results indicated that the subset of participants skilled in an outward focus of attention (through the practice of enchantment magic) did significantly alter light interference.
Now, with Diffraction 2.0, he’s taking this research to the next level. This innovative study will use high-precision optics and a new online platform, allowing many more participants to engage in testing a fascinating question: Is consciousness involved in the transition of quantum potential states into classical actual states? This is a well-known but unresolved question in mainstream physics that directly addresses the role of consciousness in the physical world. It also investigates what it means to “observe” something. So far, of the six labs that have conducted this type of experiment five have provided results indicating intimate connections between mind and matter. If additional replications continue to show these effects, they will force a radical change in the scientific worldview.
Join us for this intimate behind-the-scenes conversation, where Dr. Radin will share his insights, answer questions, and give you a glimpse into his pioneering exploration of the relationship between consciousness and the material world.
We look forward to an inspiring and thought-provoking discussion.
