Humans have always created maps to navigate the unknown. Mystics, contemplatives, psychologists, scientists, and experiencers alike have developed frameworks to understand consciousness, intuition, spiritual experiences, and the nature of reality.
In this Global Gathering for Members, we’ll explore the theme of Mapping Consciousness: A Compass for Noetic Experiences, inspired by a recent ConnectIONS Live webinar exploring Robert Monroe’s work and the broader question of how people make sense of extraordinary experiences.
How do we form models of consciousness? What happens when an experience challenges our existing worldview? When do maps help us navigate, and when might they limit our understanding?
Together, we’ll reflect on the role of meaning-making, discernment, and direct experience as we explore how humans navigate the vast and often mysterious terrain of consciousness.
You do not need to have attended the original webinar to participate. (Members, don’t forget you can watch this video in the Member Media Library!) We will offer a brief overview of the key themes before moving into small-group discussions to explore these ideas together.
The Global Gatherings Structure
Our Global Gatherings feature a formal program (60 min) of context setting and discussion, and a bonus 30 minutes at the end of the program for those who would like to stay on Zoom to continue the conversation with each other.
Unlike a traditional webinar, Noetic Global Gatherings are highly interactive community conversations. The primary focus of the gathering is small-group discussion with fellow IONS members. If you enjoy exploring ideas, sharing perspectives, and learning from others in community, this gathering is for you!
To protect personal privacy and to provide a safe and comfortable space to share, the session will not be recorded.
