Dominic Olivo, Experience & Engagement Team

The Institute of Noetic Sciences acknowledges the significance of expanding the legacy and accessibility of noetic science to the next generation of explorers who are uniquely positioned to take this field to new heights. This year’s IONS International Conference will honor three emerging noetic explorers who are creating space for a brighter future with the second biannual IONS NextGen Consciousness in Action Awards.

IONS received many inspirational applications and we are thrilled to see the abundance of creativity, passion, intellect, and empathy in the developing wave of noetic science. From these submissions, three honorees have been chosen. These three recipients are not only making waves in science, wellness, social justice, education, technology, and the environment, but also embodying noetic principles in their work. We are thrilled to introduce the following three noetic changemakers:

Her messages focus on Indigenous rights, supporting youth, inter-cultural healing, historical trauma and traditional land stewardship practices. She blends her undergraduate studies in human ecology at Stanford University, her graduate work in Native American Pedagogy at the University of New Mexico, and the indigenous worldview she grew up with to inform her perspectives and solutions. Her internationally acclaimed performances and speeches are conveyed through the medium of prayer, hip-hop, poetry, acoustic music and speech. Her personal goal is to grow closer to Creator by learning how to love deeper.

She is the former director of the Spirituality Mind Body (SMBI) Master’s Degree Program, October 2013-17, and was Co-Founder and Co-President of the Mindfulness and Education Working Group, September 2010-14. She taught six graduate courses, including Pilgrimage to Mata Amritanandamayi Devi in Kerala, India and Pro-Seminars in Leadership Development on Self-Awareness Training for 400 students within the Summer Principals Academy. She successfully defended her dissertation, a qualitative case study examining the role of mental imagery for 30 spiritual healers trained by Ron Young, who saw clients with serious illness each week for nine months. She examined the comparability across different constructions, experiences, and expressions of mental imagery, finding distinct and overlapping themes and sub-themes among healers within each case, and between the healers and their clients.

On Sunday, July 21st, these honorees will receive a $1,000 prize and an opportunity to showcase their work during the 40-minute NextGen Consciousness in Action Awards presentation on the main stage at the IONS 18th International Conference.
