Trance channeling, the practice of communicating with spiritual or non-human entities, has been a part of human history for over 3,000 years, influencing ancient cultures like the Mayans, Greeks, and Egyptians. Even today, channeling remains prevalent, with studies showing that 90% of global societies recognize some form of spiritual communication or possession. There’s a wide variety of trance-channeled material that people believe comes from non-human intelligence. However, there’s currently no formal way to collect and study this unique content. We’d like to change that. If you’ve had one of these experiences, you may be interested in our new study.

What We’re Studying
We are building a database of trance-channeled material from sources believed to represent extraterrestrial or alien sources. Angels, divine spirits, ascended masters, or beings of undisclosed origin are not included in this study. By collecting and analyzing this data, we hope to explore fundamental questions about ETI, consciousness, and how such phenomena may connect to human experience. This research continues IONS’ tradition of exploring the frontiers of consciousness and expanding our understanding of reality.
Who Can Participate?
We are looking for participants who:
- Are English-speaking adults 18 years or older.
- Can submit channeled materials, either their own or with explicit permission from the trance channeler.
- Can upload the channeled material through a survey.
What to Expect?
The process is simple:
- Confirm your eligibility through a short survey.
- Provide basic information about the material, such as the source, date, and a brief description.
- Upload the materials (up to 20 files, under 16MB each, in accepted formats such as PDF or DOC).
