ConnectIONS Live!
IONS Founder Edgar Mitchell felt it impossible that humans were alone in the Universe, and was openly curious about evidence of contact with nonhuman intelligences and what it could mean for us, our purpose and our cosmic identity.
In honor of his birthday, IONS is hosting a ConnectIONS Live to pursue Ed’s visionary curiosity and courage, especially in light of current events regarding UAPs, and what it all might mean for our future.
Don’t miss this special event!

Sean Esbjörn-Hargens PhD, has spent his life developing “metaintegral” approaches to the fields of ecology and animal consciousness, mixed-methods research, integral psychology, philosophy of science, holistic education, and new post-capitalist models of measuring social impact. For the last four years he has been applying everything he has learned over the last 30 years in these contexts to developing this new field of exo studies. Exo studies is an emerging integrative metafield exploring the psychological, sociological, and scientific implications of the UFO phenomena in all its empirical and mysterious facets Sean is very passionate about using integral methods to expand our understanding about the big mysterious universe we live in. Thus, exo studies is committed to producing new metaviews of what it means to be living in a multidimensional multiverse. Sean is Dean of Integral Education, and Integral Noetic Sciences (INS) Program Director at California Institute for Human Science. The INS program offers a very unique optional concentration in Anomalous Studies, which includes extraordinary experiences such as encounters with UFO and Non-human Intelligences. As a result this accredited graduate program is the first of its kind to engage the relationship between consciousness and UAP studies.
Thomas G. Brophy, PhD, is President of California Institute for Human Science (CIHS). His tenure as president of CIHS oversaw a many-year effort to achieve regional accreditation in 2021, for CIHS as a unique mind, body, spirit centered university. Earning a BA in physics from Colorado College, and MS and PhD degrees in physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Thomas’ academic and scientific backgrounds include work on NASA’s Voyager and Cassini spacecraft projects, the CU Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, and an appointment as a National Science Foundation Exchange Scientist at the University of Tokyo Department of Earth and Planetary Physics and ISAS robotic space program. Thomas explored the consciousness related aspects of UAP phenomena in his 1998 book The Mechanism Demands a Mysticism: An Exploration of Spirit, Matter, and Physics. His study of the archaeoastronomy of prehistoric Egypt, published in his books The Origin Map, and Black Genesis co-authored with Robert Bauval, has been cited as relevant to the study of extraterrestrial, or transhuman, intelligence.
