Have you ever met someone who felt strangely familiar to you? As if you had met them before, though you know you haven’t… in this life? If so, they might be a soul connection with which you have shared one or many past lives.
Reincarnation and past lives have been recognized by many cultures and religions throughout history. Can we be sure that the information obtained is actually a memory from a past life, or can it be that we noetically access the data, through capabilities like telepathy or remote viewing?
With that dilemma in mind, we will look at some potential reincarnation cases, followed by the otherworldly phenomenon of soul connections. You decide what you believe.
Famous reincarnation cases
The topic of reincarnation is inevitable when talking about soul connections. Two well-documented cases are “Antonia” and Jenny Cockell. In the Antonia case, a woman named Laurel Dilmen revealed the life of the Spanish woman Antonia Michaela Maria Ruiz de Prado, born in 1555. The recounts of her life happened through past-life regressions (also known as hypnotic regression) in the late 1970s/early 1980s.
Mrs. Dilmen conveyed the turbulent life of the beautiful Antonia, and how she had an intense physical and spiritual romance with one of the inquisitors after being imprisoned. Many of the details revealed in the over 40 regression sessions were strikingly accurate. Proponents of psi over reincarnation (that noetic abilities can have conveyed the information) may find it challenging to reject reincarnation as the alley of information, since the sources confirming facts related to the Antonia story are many and widespread in remote libraries.
The Jenny Cockell case involves a woman who, from early age, reminisced about a past life in Ireland, as a woman named Mary Sutton. She remembered – and traumatically re-experienced – “her” death while giving birth to her eighth child. As an adult, Jenny traveled to Ireland and discovered that the story she had felt had actually happened. The eight children had been separated and placed in different foster homes.
Mrs. Cockell connected with the now elderly children of Mary Sutton. She came to play a vital role in their lives by being the one who reconnected all the children after a lifetime apart. This is an example of the power and beauty of noetic experiences.
Another famous reincarnation case is that of James Leininger. As soon as he could talk, James remembered being a fighter pilot in WWII and dying in the Pacific. It’s an incredible story of a young boy who would moved his father, and many others, from skeptic to believer. The young James would go on to connect with the former James’ sister, and war-time friend, Jack Larsen. This case is about healing as much as it is one of the best-known cases with strong evidence for reincarnation.
Soul connections
Though there’s naturally no evidence, it is believed that there exist at least three different types of soul connections. All of them can be platonic or romantic.
- Karmic connections: Karmic connections are soul connections that enter our lives to teach us a lesson. Once the lesson is learned, these people quickly vanish. Karmic connections can be tumultuous and painful as they activate a specific wound – for example, the abandonment wound or fear or rejection.
- Soulmates: Soulmates are people whose essence is on a similar – but not identical – vibrational frequency as ours. It’s like having a barcode where you share 16 or 17 out of the 18 digits, so there’s a slight energetic difference. Soulmate relationships are often loving, supportive, and easy. When meeting a soulmate you can have the sensation of having met them before. Soulmates meet to learn from each other and evolve together.
- Twin flames: Twin flames are said to be a higher consciousness unit split in two and incarnated in two different bodies on Earth. Like twins, they are identical – but energetically rather than biologically. You only have one twin flame. The purpose of twin flames reincarnating together is to help raise the vibration of Earth and bring humanity back to love and unity. Meeting your twin flame can feel explosive, and there is often a phase of separation where both parts need to heal individually before reuniting in love.
The first well-known mention of twin flames or twin souls comes from Plato 2500 years ago. In the Symposium, Plato presents a theory of the original humans having two sets of every body part and organ: four arms, four legs, etc. Plato mentioned how these humans were then split into two, forever destined to look for their other half. Aristotle said “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.” Plato said “and when one of them meets with his other half, the actual half of himself, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of the other’s sight even for a moment.”
So… are soulmates real?
Are soulmates and twin flames real? As with other noetic phenomena, there is not – as of yet – proof that the recognition is actually due to shared past lives, or that the intimate connection is due to a similar energetic core frequency.
Even if we dismiss the past-life aspect and consider the strong bond pure psi, it is remarkable that we share these psi experiences to a high extent with some people, and only slightly or not at all with others. There seems to be something going on beyond pure biology.
Most important is to appreciate and cherish these special connections – if anything, they show us that even if soulmates wouldn’t be real, love is.
