The Hoffman Process and Me

June 16, 2021
Dominic Olivo, Senior Experience Program Coordinator

The sweeping golden hills, the expansive views, the beautiful hiking trails, and the energetic land of transformation — here I was, again at the Earthrise Retreat Center, albeit under new, reflective circumstances. As the Senior Experience Program Coordinator, I have been working remotely, away from the IONS campus throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. For over a year, I longed for our communal lunches, the reflective walks through the forests, my peaceful interactions with the local fauna, and the captivating conversations with my IONS co-workers and constituents. This month, I was fortunate to find myself back on this beautiful campus — not as a staff member, but rather as a grateful participant in the extraordinary Hoffman Process.

What a year it has been — one of changes, challenges, and calls to action. It has also been a year of patience, pause, and persistence. It felt timely to reevaluate my automatic patterned behaviors, my assumptions and judgements, and my relationship with myself and others. For the past several months, the Hoffman Institute has been renting the Earthrise Retreat Center, and I was fortunate enough to be able to experience their work myself on this tranquil, sacred land. The Hoffman Process, a week-long residential and personal growth retreat that helps participants identify negative behaviors, moods, and ways of thinking, granted me the opportunity, training, and community I needed to make life-long, positive shifts in my perspectives of self and the world-at-large.

Are you ready for change? The Hoffman Process empowers participants in becoming aware of their patterns of thought and behaviors on a spiritual, logical, emotional, and physical level in order to make the impactful, positive behavioral adjustments they have longed to make. I invite anyone who is ready to make significant changes in their lives to see if the Hoffman Process is right for them.
