The Shamanic Journey
Thursday, July 18, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The shamanic journey is one of the most remarkable visionary methods used by humankind to explore the hidden universe otherwise known mainly through myth and dream. Facilitated by Susan Mokelke, participants will be initiated into shamanic journeying using drumming to alter consciousness and awaken one’s soul and dormant spiritual power. Enter into another reality and make contact with compassionate helping spirits, such as power animals, to gain knowledge and help for your life. This training is based in core shamanism—the universal, near universal, and common features of shamanism worldwide—originated, researched, and developed by Michael Harner (1929-2018), author of the groundbreaking classic The Way of the Shaman.
Susan Mokelke, J.D., is president of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (FSS) and the director of their faculty. Susan trained extensively with Michael Harner and co-taught with him for several years. She teaches the FSS’ life-changing Three Year Program of Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing, as well as FSS weekend trainings in shamanic healing. Her numerous writings on shamanism include “Ethical Considerations in Shamanic Healing,” “Shamanism: The Heart of Transformation,” and “Shamanic Divination as Spiritual Problem Solving.” Susan has developed FSS workshops based in the core shamanism methods originated by Dr. Harner, including Advanced Shamanic Healing Practice and Shamanism for Inspired Local and Global Change. She is the editor of the FSS scholarly journal Shamanism and maintains an active shamanic healing practice.
