Is there a relationship between yoga, meditation and latent human ability? Is the human mind-body capable of telepathy or precognition? Ancient yogic texts and recent cutting-edge science suggest we may be capable of such mental powers. In this one-of-a-kind experiential workshop, IONS Chief Scientist Dr. Dean Radin teams up with Lakshmi Angela Norwood, spiritual mentor, teacher and practitioner of Hatha Yoga, to explore how a broad base of empirical evidence is shedding light on such capacities and to bring you embodied practices on the path to realizing them.
During these interactive and deeply informative two days, Dr. Radin will draw from his own compelling research conducted at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, as well as from experimental evidence from decades of research in the field of parapsychology, to explain the science that points to the possibility of extended human abilities. Grounding the scientific perspective in practice, Lakshmi will share her own embodied worldview, offering insight from her experience immersed in a yogic path and informed by Patanjali's Yoga Sutras--the same ancient texts Dr. Radin references in his popular book Supernormal: Science, Yoga, and the Evidence for Extraordinary Psychic Abilities.
Between Dr. Radin’s unique experience as a scientist and Lakshmi’s distinct spiritual worldview, this workshop will take you on an empirical journey complemented by the ancient wisdom and body practices that underlie the science of superpowers, leading to a newly informed experiential perspective on the practical convergence of science and spirituality.

Lakshmi Angela Norwood, M.Ed. is a spiritual mentor, teacher and practitioner of Hatha Yoga and meditation. Her own spiritual mentorship with Mukunda Stiles cultivated an early interest in Yoga philosophy, Tantra, Ayurveda and non-dualism. Long-term study of Hatha Yoga with Mark Horner spurred a fascination with the art of teaching and a deep understanding of the physical form. Lakshmi’s early career as a family therapist and social worker provides a compassionate, creative backdrop for adapting yoga techniques and principles to a wide variety of individual practitioners. In addition to being a senior faculty member of the Yogaworks Teacher Training department, Lakshmi authors and lectures on philosophy, anatomy, and teaching methodology and leads weekly meditation and yoga classes in the San Francisco Bay area.
