DETAILS
I don’t know what a prayer is,
But I do know how to pay attention.
~ Mary Oliver
When we pay attention we come alive to ourselves and the world in ways that just a moment before we may have been blind to. The practice of writing helps us to ground our attention in a deeper and more intimate relationship with our inner and outer world. In this way it is a spiritual practice. Whether we contemplate a leaf from a tree or a life-changing moment, the truth of our experience is there for us and others to see on the page. In bringing a loving attention to ourselves and our world, the writing practices this weekend encourage us to access our joy, wonder, and awe; our vulnerability and tenderness, and above all, our truth.
