Tina Amorok, PsyD
Tina Amorok, PsyD, is a Clinical Psychologist and past Research Psychologist at the Institute of Noetic Sciences, where she co-edited Consciousness and Healing: Integral Approaches to Mind-Body Medicine, and is a co-researcher on The Transformations Project an examination of the nature of transformations in consciousness across traditions. She has worked in the mental health field for 8 years in the Bay Area, providing both inpatient and outpatient clinical services in community and private sectors.
Tina has a history of innovation, starting with the development of programs in complementary alternative health and healing at UCLA where she founded and directed the UCLA Holistic Health Association. In addition, she conducted academic research at the UCLA Pain and Stress Management Clinic, and UCLA Perceptual Motor Learning Laboratory. In both the US and Australia, she has led and trained multidisciplinary health teams in delivering holistic treatment modalities in pain & stress management, occupational rehabilitation, and sports medicine. Tina has worked to educate the corporate, university, and lay sectors on self-created wellness in the management of various chronic pain and stress conditions, through research, creation, and delivery of health promotion seminars, publications, and conference presentations.
Before her time at IONS, Tina coordinated a graduate program in Integral Medicine and Health Education at the California Institute of Integral Studies and worked as a change and career consultant to Fortune 100 companies. Her dissertation research, entitled, The Eco-Trauma and Eco-Recovery of Being, examines how alienation from nature results in destructive ecological behaviors, violence, and unhealthy lifestyles.
