Perhaps each of us is called in this life to our own hero's journey. This journey is ultimately one of finding and understanding who we are and why we are here—and what gift we can bring to humankind and this planet. This presentation will introduce the Enneagram as a tool for understanding ourselves and others. It is a system of nine types of personality patterns, each with its unique gift and its unique shortcoming or challenge. But knowledge of the Enneagram can be used for a purpose far deeper than pigeonholing ourselves and our friends. It can be used as a demanding tool of transformation, and perhaps what we will be transformed into is who we really are.

Dr. Barbara Ray is a professor of special education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has an undergraduate degree in psychology and Masters and Doctoral degrees in special education, with an emphasis on emotional and behavioral disabilities. She facilitates a weekly Centering Prayer group as well as the monthly Chattanooga Institute of Noetic Sciences (CHIONS) study group. If the Enneagram is new to you, consider first exploring it online and perhaps complete a questionnaire, such as this one to determine your possible Enneagram type.

We hope to see you there. Like all our meetings, this one is open to visitors and is free of charge.
