Scaughdt is a familiar presence to many of us, though he has been in Stuttgart, Germany for the past year and a half.  He plans to share some of what he’s learned during this period.  He will begin with a psychological explanation of selflessness, offer some practical methods for removing the shackles of greed and fear, followed by a few tried and tested practical methods for experiencing “bliss” or “enlightenment”…and it can’t get better than that.

After intensely studying the mysteries and wisdoms of various Masters (including Lao Tsu, Buddha, Gandhi, Rumi, and Jesus Christ), Scaughdt decided in 2003 to radically test their teachings in our “real world.”  He began walking a pilgrimage of sorts, practicing the Truths he has experienced as a result.  He calls himself a “numinous nomad” – “numinous” because it is his intention to reawaken the light of Inner Peace in everyone he encounters, and “nomad” because he has no home of his own; purpose-fully wandering from community to community relaying a message of acceptance and compassion.

We hope to see you there. Like all our meetings, this one is open to visitors and is free of charge.

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church, 3224 Navajo Drive, Chattanooga

Directions: From Interstate 24 going from downtown toward Atlanta and Knoxville. Take the Germantown exit. Turn left on Germantown Road. Take the 2nd street to the left: this is Navajo Drive. Go about the length of 3 blocks and you will see the sign for the Church on the left.
