"Consciousness and UFOs: Whtat's the Connection?" is the subject of the November meeting featuring Joan Bird, author of "Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials:  Extraordinary stories of documented sightings and encounters" (scheduled for publication November 2012).

After earning a Ph.D. in Zoology at the University of Montana in 1983, Joan lived and worked in Kalispell and the Flathead area for a number of years.  In addtion to her conservation career, Joan has a long history in women's empowerment, and has also trained to be a Dances of Universal Peace leader.

A long-time member of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, she served as the Coordinator of the Helena Community Group for 11 years.
