In this painting retreat we will discover the nature of these poetic and spontaneous mediums, and learn how to handle them. By incorporating movement meditation and poetry, we awaken our art spirits and enable heartfelt expression to pour out onto the surface of our paper. Space will be created for participants to resource their inner landscape, and engage in the painting process without fear or self-judgment. Connect with your inner artist, enjoy imaginative approaches to image making, and nurture the creation of a personal, visual language.
This weekend retreat is ideal for beginners, teachers, therapists, parents, caregivers, art lovers, spiritual practitioners, and artists seeking a fresh start. Expressive wet-into-wet painting techniques will ease our journey into color, brushwork, compositional energy, atmospheric effects and textural elegance. Abstract, representational or combined approaches are encouraged to suit the individual expressive needs of each artist.
Relax, express, and enjoy both studio and plein air painting time. The magic of the natural setting and spirit of place are sure to enchant and inspire. We will be engaged in the transformative process of art making in a safe and energized environment. Individual guidance as time permits.
