I’m Fine, Thanks is a film about meeting people who had a dream and knew they needed to pursue it or else.
It’s successful because it’s so refreshing: no movement about it (yet), no protests against government or corporate leaders, nothing historical or political, no economic figures, no mention of poverty or the third world... just ordinary people who decide to follow their bliss. And because it is so simple without agendas, I’m Fine, Thanks will be a big hit and inspire people to change because of those dreams that nudge us in the middle of the night.
When these dreams start to unfold, the most passionate expressions emerge. And as one woman in the film says at the end, "I’m not just fine, I’m... fantastic!"
The film director himself, narrating throughout the film, is a breaker of rules about normality (buy the house, have a wife and children, suck it up if you are not "happy”). One day he realizes he can’t live with himself if he's telling his children to live their dreams, yet all the while isn’t living his dream of being a filmmaker.
So the stage is set. He gathers a sound guy, camera operator, driver, and producer, and they hit the road. With superb story, editing, camera work, upbeat and inspirational music, the feelings of I’m Fine, Thanks are so much fun that the film is totally contagious. These guys are on fire, and the people they interview are vulnerable, honest, ballsy, courageous, and totally inspirational.
