Description: 

From 1996 to 2008, Lena Novomeyskaya was the Director for the Center for Citizen Initiatives office in Yekaterinburg, Russia. She recruited more than 1,000 Russian entrepreneurs for business training Internships in American companies. She accompanied eight of the training delegations to the US serving as a simultaneous translator.

Lena was a founding member of the Yekaterinburg-San Jose Sister City Committee. She was among the first members of OPORA, first organization to support entrepreneurs, to fight bureaucratic corruption, and which has grown widely across Russia. Lena received awards from Rotary International, the Ministry of Economics, and as a successful leader by Who is Who in Russia.

The other 3 members of her delegation are Tatyana Bukharina of Yalta, Crimea, Elena Ivanova of St. Petesburg, and Natalie Ivanova of Krasnodar, Southern Russia.

Potluck dinner followed with an unique presentation by four Russian ladies who came to America on their own to help ease the tension between our countries. Hosted by our own award winning citizen diplomat Sharon Tennison.
