Discover how to tap into the recesses of your imagination and memory. Whether you are writing prose, poetry, memoir, or a combination, let us help you reach your goals and whittle your work down to its essential core. During this course, you’ll work one-on-one and in groups with your instructors, Meg Tuite and Robert Vaughan.

Robert Vaughan and Meg Tuite create a safe space for writers at all levels of their craft to try new, inventive things. During our Bending Genres writing intensive, we'll discuss selections of poems/ stories/ essays by master writers paired with unique daily assignments. You will start producing fresh work that might surprise and refresh you, then have the opportunity to receive wise, concrete editorial feedback to finish your pieces. This is a proven formula, and we guarantee a fulfilling experience! Come and work, play and create in this unique workshop with the California paradise as backdrop.

About the Presenter(s): 

Robert Vaughan teaches workshops in hybrid writing, poetry, fiction at locations like Red Oak Writing, The Clearing, Synergia Ranch, and Mabel Dodge Luhan House. He leads roundtables in Milwaukee, WI. He was a finalist for the Gertrude Stein Award for Fiction (2013, 2014). He was the head judge for the Bath International Flash Fiction Awards, 2016. His flash fiction, ‘A Box’ was selected for Best Small Fictions 2016 (Queen’s Ferry Press). He is the Editor-in-Chief at (b)OINK.

Vaughan is the author of five books: Microtones (Cervena Barva Press); Diptychs + Triptychs + Lipsticks + Dipshits (Deadly Chaps); Addicts & Basements (CCM), RIFT, co-authored with Kathy Fish (Unknown Press) and FUNHOUSE (Unknown Press). His blog:



Meg Tuite is the author of three collections and four chapbooks, including Lined Up Like Scars, (International Flash Short Short Fiction Publications). She has been published in over fifteen anthologies including Choose Wisely: 35 Women Up To No Good, and is editor of seven anthologies. She teaches at the Santa Fe Community College, is a senior editor for Connotation Press, Associate Editor at Narrative Magazine and is Fiction Editor at (b)OINK.
