Jim B. Tucker, M.D. is Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences at the University of Virginia. He is continuing the work of Ian Stevenson at the UVA Division of Perceptual Studies with children who report memories of previous lives and is the author of Life Before Life: Children’s Memories of Previous Lives (St. Martin’s, 2005). A board-certified child psychiatrist, he also serves as medical director of the UVA Child and Family Psychiatry Clinic.
Dr. Tucker describes some of the findings, includingunusual play, behavior patterns, specific phobias, and birthmarks or birth defects specifically related to the life and death of the previous personality. He will discuss the interpretation of the data and details about the methodology as well as possible pitfalls of individual cases.
