Christine Falcon and Jake Daigle are Resident Caretakers of EarthRise. They live on campus with Christine’s daughter, Giuliana, and consider it a great privilege to watch over the retreat center on evenings and weekends and serve the people who visit.
Christine completed her MFA in Writing and Consciousness at CIIS, holds a BA in psychology, and works during the day as an Enrollment Counselor at The Hoffman Institute Foundation in San Rafael. A Bay Area native interested in the relationship between nature and healing, her immediate plans involve certification in horticultural therapy, researching grants to fund a “healing garden” program at EarthRise, and eventually working with populations who have undergone various types of trauma. She is completing her third novel; her award-winning writing has appeared in print, online, and aired on public radio; and her documentary film work about deforestation in Northern California has screened internationally and aired nationally on public television.
