Friday Evening Activities
8:30pm to 10:00pm
Evening activities do not require pre-registration and are included as part of conference registration. Just pick the activity that appeals to you most and attend. Locations will be available on site at the conference.
Friday Evening Movie—Journey of the Universe
On Friday evening we're showing the film Journey of the Universe from acclaimed author and evolutionary philosopher Brian Swimme (who will be there in person to introduce the film) and religious historian Mary Evelyn Tucker. You’ll be inspired by Brian’s infectious curiosity about life’s biggest questions as he and Mary Evelyn weave a tapestry of scientific discoveries in astronomy, geology, biology, ecology, and biodiversity with humanistic insights about the nature of the universe and our role as humans in this awe-inspiring mystery.
Moon Ritual—Luisah Teish
Tonight the moon is in its last quarter. It is the perfect time to evaluate where we have been and where we are going. Tonight Teish will conduct a moon ritual using the universal elements found in all cultures. Please bring regrets and fears, past accomplishments and future hopes, and writing utensils.
Standing Well: Our Place with Earth—Osprey Orielle Lake, MA
Using multimedia and new story narratives, we will explore our relationship with the earth in these challenging times and how the natural and cultural history of place influences and shapes our perception and perspective. An experiential component called Earth-Place addresses stories and symbols that enhance personal well-being and care for our communities.
Group Healing Session—Master Mingtong Gu
Join us for this rare opportunity to practice Qigong with Master Mingtong Gu, who is honored as the Master of the Year by the World Qigong Congress this year. Master Gu will lead Wisdom Healing Qigong, a profound and effective system of healing and transformation for optimizing health and wellness. Using gentle movement, sounds, visualization, and meditation, the mind, body, and heart are empowered with more vitality, joy, and purpose. He is offering a group healing session on Friday evening. This experiential session can recharge your body, heart, and spirit through the activation of the collective, accumulative, and holographic field.
Riding the Waves to the Divine—Shaykh Yassir Chadly
Shaykh Yassir Chadly, Bay Area Moroccan musician, teacher and Sufi storyteller, celebrates traditional Moroccan devotional music intricately woven with the mystical and enchanting Wisdom Tales of the Sufis. The session will culminate with a small Sufi Dhikr: "The Remembrance of The Oneness."
