Caring Science: Passage to the Heart for Whole-Self Healing—Jean Watson, PhD, RN
This session presents the evolution and implementation of Caring Science, which offers a deep ethical/philosophical cosmology for healing and health care—both ancient and contemporary. The Ethics of Belonging and Ethics of Face restore human caring and a love for healing back into our understanding of whole-person health care.
Jean Watson, PhD, RN, is distinguished professor of Nursing at the University of Colorado, founder of the original Center for Human Caring, and founder/director of Watson Caring Science Institute. She is a widely published author and has received numerous awards and honors. The Watson Theory of Caring is studied and taught in nursing education throughout the world.
