Meditations for Mothers New and Soon-to-Be

Mother’s Day is near, and in honor of new mothers and mothers-to-be, we offer four free meditations designed specifically for pregnant women and new moms.

Developed by IONS President Cassandra Vieten, PhD, these meditations are based on the Mindful Motherhood program. Mindful Motherhood draws on decades of research on the health and well-being benefits of mindfulness and meditation and tailors it to the specific needs of pregnant women, mothers, and their babies.

Focused on reducing stress, improving mood, and enhancing the connection between moms and their infants, Mindful Motherhood is available both as a book and as an online course for individuals or for professionals who would like to facilitate Mindful Motherhood Groups or integrate components of the Mindful Motherhood Training into their work (CE units are available for qualified professionals).

And today we offer these free audios to new moms and mother-to-be in honor of the life-changing path you are on. And if you are not a new mom, or mom-to-be, feel free to share with those you know!

    Can be used at any time... while folding laundry, washing dishes, or while just resting quietly

    Nursing or feeding your baby is an excellent time for mindfulness practice
  • Brief Meditation for Pregnant Women And New Moms
    Great to use when you don’t have a lot of time, or when things get a little harried
